This item is a kit for making basic latex rubber masks. This kit represents a saving on buying the items separately, and includes:
-Five litres of Liquid Latex
-Three 100g Liquid Latex colour pigments in your choice of colours
-Ten 1lb / 450g blocks of Regular Klean Klay, 4.5Kg in total
-One 25lbs / 11.3Kgs bag of WED clay
-One set of six double ribbon/loop sculpting tools
-One 10Kg bucket of Crystacal R hard casting plaster
-One plastic mannequin head, in your choice of male or female
-One 100 metre roll of Jute scrim (please note cotton scrim is pictured, Jute is thicker and better)
-One large pack of mask hair in your choice of colour – Black, Brown, Yellow, Grey, White, or Auburn.

Liquid latex is specified to contain 60.5% rubber solids as standard. It is widely used for brushing or dipping, general FX work, movie prop construction, and costuming.
Latex Pigments should be added to Liquid Latex at 5%. This kit includes TWO of seven colours available, each is 100g – you will receive only TWO colours of your choice. Colours available are: Black, Brown, Red, Green, Yellow, White, and Blue. Please specify which colours you would like when you order, otherwise you will receive random colours.
Klean Klay is a non-drying, non-hardening, sulphur-free oil based modelling clay for a variety of applications. It is non-toxic, sanitary, and odourless. Klean Klay is easy to handle and work with and remains hand-pliable at room temperature. Klean Klay keeps its smooth, firm consistency and retains the shape into which it is moulded.
Important: Klean Klay is reusable - you can use it time and time again to make different sculpts.
Klean Klay also comes in Regular, Soft and Firm textures, please let us know which you would like when you order. Please note that the colour of the clay may vary (‘Natural’ is pictured), if you have specific colour requirements please check availability with us before ordering.
Sculpting tools are provided as a set of six tools, each is 8” / 20cm long and has a different shaped loop at each end for clay sculpting.
Crystacal R is very similar to Ultracal 30 which is widely used in the USA for making negative moulds for latex masks etc. Crystacal R should be mixed with water at a ratio of 100 Plaster to 35 water.
WED Clay is a part water based clay, but dries more slowly and has some qualities similar to oil based clay. Although WED can be used for sculpting, it is included in this kit to make a dividing wall for the moulding stage of the mask making process – check out the How-To articles.
Mannequin Heads & Shoulders have square bases to make them really stable. This means they are great for displaying heavy hats or helmets, or to use as a sculpting armature to stick clay all over during your custom helmet or mask sculpt project. Please choose from male, or either choice of female when you order.
Cotton Scrim is suitable for reinforcing plaster structures such as mould support casing and negative moulds made from hard plasters.
Mask Hair comes in long pre-packed locks – each one is over two metres long and weighs over 400g. The hair inside is coiled up in what appears to be one continuous length – so you can open one end and pull it out without it getting tangled. It comes out with a curl to it, but it appears that it can be straightened by stretching it out and steaming it, although you’ll have to experiment for the desired results.
